ITINERARY

Day 1	Uzungol, Hagia Sophia and Trabzon. Transfer from your hotel in Istanbul to the airport to take an early flight to Trabzon, known as Trapezus in ancient times. You will meet with your guide and take an enjoyable drive to Uzungol where you will have a chance to see the beautiful green nature of the area. After having lunch in a local restaurant offering the best tastes of the region, you will drive back to Trabzon. Visit the Hagia Sophia Church known as "the Cathedral of the Comnens" and has a depiction of the Mother Mary, it was named as the "Goldenhead". Also Ataturk Kiosk, temporarily used by the founder of Turkish Republic before the Independence War. Finally, take a panoramic tour of the city before your check-in to the hotel. Stay overnight in Trabzon. (Lunch-Dinner)
Day 2	Sumela Monastry, Karaca Cave. After breakfast we will drive via Macka to Sumela Monastery, which stands at the foot of a steep cliff facing the Altindere Valley. This amazing building was founded in honor of the Virgin Mary by priests called Barnabas and Sophronius who came from Athens. Visit the Rock Church, several chapels decorated by colorful frescoes, kitchens, student rooms, guesthouse, library and sacred spring revered by the Orthodox Greeks. Enjoy the wonderful view of the valley and have lunch in Cosandere after your visit to the Karaca Cave. Finally, you will be transferred to the airport to take your flight back Istanbul. Transfer to your hotel. End of our services.
